❃ Not every dinosaur you see was discovered more than a hundred years ago; some were found just a few decades ago. The Atrociraptor was found in 1995 in Alberta, Canada by Wayne Marshall.
❃ "Atroci" doesn't necessarily mean "atrocious." It was, but in a good, violent, needed-to-survive kind of atrocious. They were excellent hunters with short heads and serated teeth to go in for the kill.
❃ The Atrociraptor wasn't just vicious, it was also smart. It made use of its keen eyesight and great sense of smell for hunting. Its brain was relatively large for its body size—compared to other dinosaurs and reptiles. Truly a fearsome opponent back then.
