❃ The Compsognathus was a small, fast-running theropod dinosaur. It measured approximately 1 meter (3.3 feet) in length and weighed around 5 kilograms (11 pounds).
❃ Compsognathus is thought to have been a scavenger and an opportunistic hunter, preying on small animals such as lizards, insects, and mammals.
❃ It is unique among theropod dinosaurs in that its jaws were equipped with delicate, backward-curving teeth, which suggest that it may have been adapted for eating soft foods such as insects.
