❃ Dakosaurus was a large carnivorous marine crocodile that lived during the Late Cretaceous period. It measured up to 14 meters in length, and weighed between 1000-2000lbs.
❃ It had a long, narrow snout lined with sharp teeth, and two large eyes that provided good vision both above and below water. Its body was covered in thick, protective scales, and its tail was long and powerful, used for swimming and for bashing prey.
❃ Dakosaurus was a fast and agile swimmer, thought to reach speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. It hunted fish, turtles, and other small marine reptiles, ambushing them from below and dragging them under water to drown them. It was also a dangerous predator of larger animals, and is known to have attacked and killed dinosaurs such as Plesiosaurs.
