❃ Gallimimus was a theropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Mongolia during the Late Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago. It was a member of the family Ornithomimidae, or "bird-mimics", and was one of the largest members of its family.
❃ It had long legs and arms, and its neck was relatively long and slender. Its skull was small and delicate, with large eyes that may have been adapted for seeing in low light conditions.
❃ Gallimimus is known from a relatively small number of fossil specimens, so much of what we know about its biology comes from inferences made about similar dinosaurs. It was probably a social animal, and may have hunted in packs. Dinosaur? Chicken? The fastest dino ever? Ooooh, sounds interesting, huh? Learn more about them in our Gallimimus blog!
