❃ Kronosaurus was a large, predatory marine reptile that lived during the Early Cretaceous period. It was one of the last surviving members of its family, which included other large predators such as Mosasaurs
❃ It was first described in 1924, based on fossils found in Australia. The type species is K. queenslandicus. A second species, K. bicephalus, was described in 2001 from fossils found in South America.
❃ Kronosaurus was a large reptile, reaching lengths of up to 12 meters (40 feet). It had a long, crocodile-like head, with sharp teeth that were ideal for slicing through flesh. The body was muscular and streamlined, with powerful limbs that ended in webbed feet. This creature was well-adapted for life in the water, and would have been a formidable predator!
