❃ Tarbosaurus was a large theropod dinosaur that lived in Asia during the Late Cretaceous period. It was one of the last surviving members of the tyrannosaurid family, and was one of the largest land predators of its time.
❃ It was a bipedal predator, with large teeth and powerful jaws. It was probably an opportunistic hunter, preying on whatever large animals it could find. It may have hunted in packs, as evidenced by fossil remains that suggest multiple individuals of different ages and sizes.
❃ Tarbosaurus is known from a few incomplete skeletons, and its exact size is uncertain. Estimates place it at between 12 and 15 meters (40 and 50 feet) in length, and 3 to 4 meters (10 to 13 feet) in height. It probably weighed between 4 and 7 metric tons (4.5 and 7.7 short tons).
